“Sometimes I look at something, and this is just the action of me looking at something, it is only a direction. Then my real eyes, those behind the eyes, arrive, like sitting down: this I call “deposit.” Sometimes it happens alone, at other times it arrives at once with someone I am looking at, other times it happens with objects. When the “behind eyes” arrives, I feel that I expand. The action of looking doesn’t belong to me or the person or the objects anymore, it is just free to exist. It could eventually have its own life, in some other eyes.”
